SoGoMeet believes in the power of bringing people together. Our mission is to break down barriers to creating inclusive communities by using the power of psychology to pair people for small social events. We call these “Meets” of 5-6 people over coffee or lunch to laugh, share, and connect to something bigger than themselves.  We have launched in Chicago to bring our solution to communities and workplaces worldwide through in-person and online events.

 

Event Operations Manager

 

Responsibilities

  • Organize 15-20 monthly meets using a standard process and best practices
  • Identify the optimal dates, times, and neighborhoods for meets - ex:  “Tuesday 9am Coffee in Fulton Market”
  • Then, after interested members request an invite, use our platform to assemble groups of 5-6 people per table to attend at a location in the neighborhood based on capacity
  • Serve as the point person for any questions that arise

 

Qualifications

  • Strong Organization Skills: a superfan of spreadsheets and plans, and checklists
  • Good communication skills: smart, focused, and efficient
  • Strong track record of reliability and consistency: you’re probably the emergency contact for sooooo many of your friends and family
  • Trustworthiness with a clear background check 
  • A passion for people and events that impact lives and transform communities
  • Bonus points if you are interested in people, project management, event planning, psychology, or start-ups (no, not just the kind on that HBO show!), but these are not requirements.

 

Commitment 

  • We would like you to work remotely for 10-20 hours per week at the seed stage on a flexible-but-consistent schedule that you set. This is a perfect side-hustle option.
  • If this role is a good fit, we’d like you to be able to commit for at least three months or longer.

 

Pre-Seed Stage Startup

Compensation for this role can be in the form of cash or equity based on the needs of the candidate, but our preference is for equity-based compensation until seed-stage funding is completed.  At this pre-seed stage, the goal is for everyone to earn equity based on their contributions toward the future company we’re building.
